Objectives
The
VIII Americas Business Forum, like the seven
previous Forums, constitutes an instrument of
negotiation for the FTAA, where businessmen from
throughout the continent have the opportunity to
examine the status of the negotiations in order to
form this integration scheme and formulate the
position of the business sectors, through
proposals, recommendations or approaches to be
considered in the meeting of Ministers of Trade to
be held in November 2003. In order to achieve the
aforementioned objective, the VIII Americas
Business Forum will carry out the following
activities:

Americas Business Forum Objectives:

1.
Plenary session (a special program will be
distributed).
2. Presentation and discussion meetings on subjects
directly related to the FTAA.
3. Eleven workshops to
analyze and discuss proposals or approaches by
businessmen
from throughout the continent and make recommendations.
4. Closing plenary session with the attendance of the
Ministers of Trade for the
presentation of recommendations
arising from the workshops (a special program
will be
distributed). |
